(There's a market in a nearby town each weekend) You can walk to the local cafes or pub or organise a round of golf at a multitude of local courses. Near the Lake is a beautifully restored little train station .. jump on the historic steam train for a trip back in time to Queenscliff .. take your bike and meander back on the 'Bellarine Rail Trail' or drive just a few minutes through the lush countryside and you are at Victoria's premium wineries such as Scotchman's Hill. Here you can catch a jazz concert, wonder at the beauty of the grand old mansion, drink in the view across Corio Bay to Melbourne's skyscrapers or the exquisite wines on offer at Spray Farm. Just across the road is the renowned Bellarine Estate with the extraordinary culinary skills behind Julian's Restaurant. Up the hill a little .. enjoy a more casual breakfast or lunch at "The Church" .. divine food in the soaring surrounds of a restored church .. if its warm sit outside for some heavenly views of rolling green countryside and grazing ponies. BUT if its beach you want they're just a short drive away at Portarlington, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads at your doorstep! You can't leave without a walk up to the Point Lonsdale lighthouse and of course Queenscliff is a must-see town .. with its gracious old hotels, rich maritime history, buzzing cafes, fishing, seal and dolphin watching adventures .. and a ferry which will take you and your car across the heads to Sorrento .. complete with breathtaking views and often escored by playful dolphins!
