To feel completely relaxed is a memorable experience. An experience that previous guests staying at our house have appreciated, because you really have to stay here for yourself in order to appreciate it. Many of our guest have come back. Our best advertising is the word-of-mouth by previous' guests.

Walking into the Beach House, the deck beckons with its fantastic view of 120m high cliffs of Cape Bridgewater to Cape Nelson on the opposite side of the Bay.

Just relax in the lounge with a glass of wine while watching the kids play on the large pristine white beach of Bridgewater Bay.

If you choose to cook in for yourselves the fully equipped kitchen will make you feel at home or you go to the Bridgewater Bay Beach Cafe across the road.

And should the evening or morning arrive with a chill, a crackling fire in the wood fired heater will keep the house cosy.

The house is equipped with all the things to make you feel relaxed at the Abalone Beach House and to enjoy the great surroundings including little things you would normally not expect in a holiday house.

Locality

You can walk to Cape Bridgewater directly from the beach in front of the house. A well maintained walking path leads you along the Bridgewater Headland. With 120m sheer cliff face this is the highest clifftop on the Victorian Coastline. It is an easy walk to the viewing platform to view the resident seal colony and whales that frequent the shores. If you are not into walking take a boat trip to view the seal colony at water level. "Seals-by-sea" is a 45min tour that takes you alongside rock platforms and into the mouth of a cave where you can get close up views of the hundreds of seals entertaining visitors.

The Cape Bridgewater (patrolled in summer by the local Surf Life Saving Club) beach is just across the road (local traffic only). We have body boards, a surf board and some beach toys/ games ready for you to use.

The Great South West Walk is just on your doorstep. Mount Richmont National Park, Discovery Bay Coastal Park as well as Glenelg National Park are all a maximum of half hour drives away.

Whale Watching

Whale watching possible from property, Whale watching tours available nearby.

We have seen Southern Right Whales from our veranda. In winter they sometimes come into Bridgewater Bay for a days rest and if you are lucky you might even see a mother with calf.

Windsurfing/Kitesailing

We are not able to offer you the equipment or expertise but there are a few locals that use the beach often for kitesailing (if the wind is right). As it is never a packed beach and very long you will have plenty of space.

Winter Holiday

Log fire.

Have a quite winter holiday, walking along the beach (or parts of the Great South West Walk) enjoying the view or the warm heat of the wood heater, master chef a great meal in the fully equipped kitchen...
