Motel, Bed & Breakfast

Some things you just must see and do:

Visit our famous Japanese Gardens and Cultural Centre, our 2.5 acre undercover exciting historical museum, our Rose garden with over 130 varieties of roses and 900 bushes. Try our various cellar doors and galleries - or hire a bus and guide for the day. Take a walk through The Mill - the oldest buiding in Cowra which has been authentically restored.

Come hot air balooning and visit a working winery. See the Age of Fishes museum. Dine at any of our fine restaurants - there is an excellent one - The Quarry - within walking distance.

Amateur astronomers -enjoy our clear night skies through the telescope at the observatory

Check out the antique shops. Lunch at an Aussie Pub, or at one of many coffee shops and restaurants, or at the Japanese Gardens. Talke a self guided walking/driving tour in and around Cowra. Such a wide variety of things to do.

We also have a programme of regular and annual events, like The Farmers' Markets, the Picnic Races, The Cork & Fork, The Regional Wine Show, Cherry Blossom Festival, and many others.

RELAX, REFRESH, RECHARGE
Visit the Japanese Gardens - recommend the audio tour. The Japanese War Cemetery - the only one outside Japan. Iandra Castle - open every 3rd Saturday, the Wineries, the Rail & War Museum, The Steam Museum, see The Peace Bell, Darby's Falls Observatory, The Wyangala Waters and National Parks, The historic Mill. Art galleries, Award winning restaurants. Cherry Blossom Festival. Picnic Races. etc. etc.
At nearby Canowindra (20 mins drive) the Age of Fishes Museum, Hot air ballooning, The Trading Post (an Aladdin's cave of treasures to buy} and taste Canowindra - Food, wine and local goodies plus music and the arts.
Chinese Gardens in Young & Cherry Festival.
Just over 1 hour from Bathurst and Orange and 2 hours from Canberra.

Property

This Pet Friendly motel is a 6 room homestead style building with bullnosed verandahs. Situated on 1 acre, 300 metres off the Boorowa Road, along Chardonnay Road, nestled in the vineyards, but high enough to have views to the surrounding hills. Pebbled driveway, grassy areas and trees. Well signposted. Relax on either the front or back verandahs, with a glass of wine or a cuppa and maybe a friend or 2 (or more). The pool is popular in summer (and the in-slab heating is cosy in winter!) There are 2 guest BBQs. All rooms have electric blankets, extra small heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioners or evaporative coolers, front and back doors and openable windows; Microwave ovens, toaster, Kettle and fridge. Just bring yourselves, we have just about everything else.

We welcome your pets as part of your family. We have 2 main conditions relation to your animals, (1) Animal permitting, I like to greet them with pats (2) if the animal has an accident in the room, that you show us, an pay a cleaning fee so we can get the carpet cleaned immediately. There is plenty of room for the animal to run and it does not need to be on a lead if it obediently comes to your call. BYO animal Bedding, animal food and bowls. There are always additional water bowls outside. We are 400 metres of a main road and surrounded by vineyards (fenced on 3 sides). Your pet is welcome inside your room - if it is a furniture or bed sitter, please being an extra rug to protect our furniture and bedspreads. Wew also have an outside cage if you need to use it. We don't allow pets in the pool but the river is not far away.
