Property

This homestead, was built around 1905/10, constructed after the original one was destroyed by fire. It has undergone in it's time periods as a farm, an orchard, a private residence and now our home and a Bed & Breakfast.

Standing besides a magnificant 150+ year old evergreen magnolia tree, it looks out across the Huon River to the Sleeping Beauty Mountain range.
Once through the gateway you can almost imagine you have stepped back in time, entering an unhurried era when the days slipped gracefully and slowly by, despite the hard work which must have been the normal for people of the day.

The house has seen various stages of upgrading and restoration in it's life. The latest being our conversion to accommodate a B & B business, which we hope we have done sympathetically, whilst retaining as many of it's original features as possible.

The two sided verandah takes in just some of the garden views. The rest can only be appreciated by exploring - we are still finding new plants after 2 years of occupation.
Beyond the gardens is a thriving veggie patch, despite the bird's and wildlife's best endeavours to help themselves in there and in the orchard, which has over 20 assorted fruit trees, of apples, pears, nectarines, cherries, apricots, quinces, plums, almonds and hazelnuts. All of which bring seasonal produce to the breakfast table.
The rear paddock is currently occupied by a neighbour's horse who has the best view in the valley! Don't take "Jack's" word for it, take a walk up the hill.

Inside the house there are views from every window, and while today's everyday comforts are catered for, you can easily contemplate the elegance and craftmanship of the past.

We are happy to share our little "peace" of heaven with you!
