This very quaint, stylish cottage is suitable for 1 to 2 couples, or small families.

Close to the Three Sisters, cafes and galleries, yet tucked away from busy roads and very peaceful.

The garden at Waratah Cottage has been thoughtfully planned for your relaxation and privacy. It features drystone walls, exotic mountain-style garden with cherries, maples, camellias, hedges, herbs and more. Relax under the cherry tree on the purpose-built wrap-around seat, large enough to lie on with pillows, a good book and a glass of wine.

The lounge area has a 3 seater couch, 2 cosy arm chairs, a wood fire, television, DVD along with an extensive library of films.

The kitchen is complete with black granite bench tops, breakfast bar, beautifully custom built cupboards painted in a rich cream and fully equipped for any creative cooking feast.

The kitchen spills out through French doors onto the deck and outdoor eating area where you will find the built-in large BBQ surrounded by fabulous ironstone rock walls, the evenings are glorious on the deck and the stars are bright.

Bedroom one has a queen-size bed and is themed in cream and black, crisp white sheets and pillows, exquisite black chandelier, ornate Chinese storage cupboard and lovely black and white 'toile de jouy' long drapes and blinds.

Bedroom 2 is accessed through a gorgeous set of French doors, has a queen bed, crisp white linen, a pale pink and cream toile theme. Also with a small sitting area for reading or a cuppa.

Things to do

An easy walk to the main street of Katoomba, famous award-winning restaurants Solitary & Mes Amis, the Three Sisters, Lurline Street Art Galleries and all that the mountains has to offer at your doorstep.

The cottage is conveniently located between the main shopping street and the Three Sisters, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the Sisters and only 5 minutes to town. Just park your car in the driveway and forget about it all weekend if you wish.

Highly recommended is the Hamilton day spa a wonderful escape for a few hours for a total pampering, an easy stroll from the cottage. www.hamiltonspa.com.au

Property

Waratah Cottage was lovingly restored by its owners in 2002. The gardens - though not large - are spectacular and designed with relaxation and privacy in mind.

Drystone walls are a feature in the garden, all built rock by rock, hand by hand, the huge 17 metre dry stone wall took owner Phillip Campbell 7 weeks to construct.

It is a pleasure to just relax and read in these beautiful surroundings and all so close to everything the mountains has to offer.

If you are arriving by train with light luggage the walk is only 5-10 minutes at the most, down hill all the way. A taxi ride would cost from $6.00 - $10.00 and take about 2 minutes.

Evening stroll to Katoomba street offers you a multitude of eating choices and great pubs, including the Carrington Bar and Hotel and TrisElies night club if you feel like some live music. Don't forget the highly respected Clarendon music venue is located conveniently on Lurline Street, adjacent to Waratah Ave, which makes the cottage a wonderful choice for the yearly Blue Mountains Blues Festival in March or the Winter Magic weekend in June.
